💜 A Mighty Heart in Action 💜
Today at Knowlton Elementary, Shaunee McFadden was surprised with the $10,000 Heidi Martin Mighty Heart Educator of Excellence Award. The room was full — Foundation board members, district leaders, school board members and staff all showed up to celebrate her.
But here’s what says everything: Even with an assembly in her honor, Shaunee was in the back of her classroom helping a student through a difficult moment. Staff had to create an elaborate plan just to get her there. When she realized what was happening, she was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn’t speak.
That’s what a mighty heart looks like. Read the full story and see photos from the day: 👉 https://www.daviseducationfoundation.org/o/def/article/2713580

Join the No Hunger Zone and Tackle Hunger!
This Super Bowl season, let’s work together to make a meaningful difference for students in our community. With 1 in 6 children in Utah facing food insecurity, the Davis Education Foundation invites you to join the No Hunger Zone 2026 campaign. Your donation will support critical food assistance programs, including Pantry Packs, Emergency Food Boxes, and Principal Pantries. Every dollar helps fill food pantries, provides meals to students in crisis, and ensures no child goes hungry.

Davis Education Foundation is part of the Light the World Giving Machines at Ogden’s Christmas Village this year. That means you can “buy” real help for local kids just by swiping your card.
Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Visit Ogden’s Christmas Village
2️⃣ Find the red Giving Machines
3️⃣ Choose Davis Education Foundation
4️⃣ Pick an item to support students and classrooms in Davis School District
It feels like buying a gift. It is buying a coat, a meal or support that helps a student stay in school and stay hopeful.
Bring your family, grab some hot chocolate and make the Giving Machines part of your Christmas tradition this year.

Our virtual tree is filling up, students are getting sponsored and Amazon carts are working overtime… but we still need you on the team.
Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Go to daviskids.org/santa
2️⃣ Pick a junior high ornament
3️⃣ Shop the Amazon list for that school
4️⃣ Done. You just made a local teen’s holiday way brighter
Teens are often the ones who get skipped over during the holidays. This is our chance to change that story in Davis School District.
Jump in, grab an ornament and help us keep the Sub for Santa shopping spree rolling.
