April is the Month of the Military Child. We invite everyone to wear purple on Friday! Purple Up Day celebrates the children of military families, acknowledging the unique challenges they face, such as frequent relocations, parental deployments, and adapting to new schools and communities. The day encourages everyone to wear purple, symbolizing unity across all branches of the military—Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Space Force. By wearing purple, communities show support and appreciation for military children, letting them know they are recognized and valued.

America is turning 250 — and our students have something to say.
Davis School District is hosting Voices of a Nation: Student Perspectives on 250 Years of America, a districtwide speaking event aligned with America 250 Utah.
Students from every school and grade level are invited to apply to deliver an original speech about America’s past, present or future.
Selected students will receive mentorship and take the stage on May 4, 2026, at the Davis Instructional Services Center in Layton. The event will be professionally produced and live streamed for the community.
You don’t have to be famous to have something worth saying.
Take the mic. Share your idea. Be part of the story.
Applications due March 18.

We are so incredibly grateful to the Davis Education Foundation and Davis School District for the "Cash for Classrooms" grant that made our bioluminescent ocean installation possible.
This project was a true labor of love, created collaboratively by our entire student body. It was an exciting part of our STEAM Night, giving parents and our community a chance to dive into the science of light and the beauty of art.
Thank you for investing in our students' creativity and helping us turn our hallways into an immersive world of wonder! 💡🎨

Thank you so much, Davis Education Foundation, for your generous contribution to learning at our school. We received a cash for classrooms grant. This grant was used to purchase a Bamboo labs 3-D printer. One of several projects we have used this learning tool for include students in sixth grade classes collaborated with kindergarten classes to collect and make sense of data about 4 types of penguins (Gentoo, Macaroni, Emperor, and Little Blues). Data included gathering details about penguin descriptions, habitat, and food they eat. Next, the sixth-grade students used the data they had collected to create 3-D models using the tinkered design platform. Then, they printed their designs using the 3-D printer. Finally, the sixth graders presented the finished printed models to the kindergarten classes in a short presentation explaining how they had made them using software and hardware together.
Our students have thoroughly enjoyed using this learning tool, thank you again!
