If your eighth-grade student is interested in participating in athletics outside of their boundary high school during their freshman year, they will need to apply for a Boundary Permit.
What is the Ninth-Grade Participation Policy?

Art Class Highlight!
Our Durable Duck Skill for the week is Teamwork, and our artists drew ducks with markers tied to strings. The teamwork and communication required to complete this drawing task was so fun to see!”(It was hilarious actually)
Our Horizon Cheerleaders did an amazing job tonight at their Cheer Showcase! Their hard work, dedication, and team spirit truly shined on the floor. We are so proud of everything they’ve accomplished.

HOPE Squad is a student led, peer-to-peer support group, here to help promote mental wellness here at Horizon Jr. We will meet monthly on Tuesdays, after school, in room 1341, for 30-45 minutes starting at 3:10 for a short lesson and to make plans for fun activities. Activities may include lunchtime activities and other things to help unite our school in HOPE! You can nominate up to 3 people, including yourself! Please nominate people who are kind, dependable, and trustworthy. Nominate someone you feel comfortable talking to during stressful times. Nominees will be reviewed by administrators, councilors, teachers, and SBOs to ensure that the nominations will be people we can depend on. Then we will need parental permission before we can invite you to join our Squad.

Our students explored códices and used this ancient storytelling style to creatively represent the First Thanksgiving. Loved seeing their artistic skills and cultural connections come to life! 🍁📜✨

🪨🎲 7th Grade Science Spotlight! 🎲🪨
Mr. Kelley’s class has been rocking the rock cycle this past week!
Our 7th graders created their own maps showing all the different places rocks and sediments could travel. Then the real adventure began—they rolled dice to discover where the rock cycle would take them next and described the processes that transformed their rock along the way.
From sediment to igneous to metamorphic (and back again!), students saw firsthand how one type of rock can become another through natural processes. 🌋💨💦
We love seeing science come to life in such creative and engaging ways! Great job, students! 👏🔬

Congratulations to our e-sports teams on completing there first official league season.

HJH Classroom Highlight: Our Spanish classes celebrated Día de Muertos. They created an altar and students brought in pictures of their ancestors, loved friends and pets that have passed but forever remembered.

Our Boys Basketball team wrapped up their quarterfinals game today with heart, hustle, and true Horizon pride. While the result wasn’t what we hoped for, we couldn’t be more proud of the incredible season these athletes put together.
