When a workplace comes together for students, you can feel it in the room.

This fall, Marathon Petroleum Company employees and contractors at the Salt Lake facility rallied around Davis Education Foundation’s Child Spree Clothing Program through a fundraiser lunch that drew a strong turnout from across the site. Marathon Petroleum Company later presented Davis Education Foundation with a $26,350 donation to help more students start school with warm clothes, sturdy shoes and a boost of confidence.

What stood out most was the way people showed up side by side. Employees and contractors from a wide range of roles and backgrounds participated and contributed, turning an ordinary workday into something genuinely meaningful.

Child Spree is designed to remove a simple but powerful barrier: students who need clothing support should not have to worry about what they’ll wear to school. This gift helps ensure students can show up feeling comfortable, prepared and proud.

Even better, this partnership is not stopping at the check presentation. Marathon Petroleum Company employees and contractors plan to volunteer as shoppers at the next Child Spree, building on the strong energy and participation from the first time they joined us. That matters because Child Spree is more than a program. It’s a personal moment for every student involved, and volunteer shoppers help make that moment joyful and memorable.

Davis Education Foundation is grateful to Marathon Petroleum Company for investing in students and for creating a culture where people step up together. This is what community support looks like: practical help, real people and a direct impact on kids who need it most.

Thank you, Marathon Petroleum Company, for helping students start strong.
