At Northridge High School in Layton, one teacher is transforming what a classroom can be — and the nation is taking notice.

Special education teacher Ms. Jelly has been named a finalist in KI’s Fourth Annual Classroom Giveaway, a nationwide competition awarding $50,000 in classroom furniture and design upgrades to educators with a vision for the future of learning.
Her design blends flexible seating, calm color tones, and adaptive work areas to create a welcoming space where every student can focus, connect, and thrive. The layout encourages both collaboration and independence — a perfect match for her students in specialized education programs, who benefit from environments that adapt to their individual needs.
“Ms. Jelly’s design reflects both creativity and compassion,” said Kara Toone, executive director of Davis Education Foundation. “She’s creating a space that celebrates each student’s strengths and helps them build skills for life.”
KI’s Utah sales specialist Olivia Graham said the company was thrilled to see Utah represented among this year’s finalists. “It’s inspiring to see teachers go above and beyond to make learning engaging,” Graham said. “We had hundreds of submissions, and Ms. Jelly’s design stood out for its thoughtfulness and heart.”
Voting is open November 16th at KI’s Fourth Annual Classroom Giveaway webpage. Each vote brings Ms. Jelly closer to making her dream classroom a reality.
The Davis Education Foundation is proud to support educators like Ms. Jelly — teachers who turn creativity into opportunity and classrooms into catalysts for lifelong success.
