Event Sign-Up and Participation: When you register as a volunteer, attendee, or donor through one of our programs.
Automated Collection: When our messaging platform (Twilio) collects technical data to ensure message delivery and performance.

What Information We Collect

We may collect the following:

Directly from you:
- Phone number
- Consent status (opt-in or opt-out)
- Replies or messages sent to us

Automatically from our platform:
- Delivery status (delivered, failed, etc.)
- Error codes (e.g. unreachable device, landline, etc.)
- Mobile carrier
- Country of origin (we do not send international texts)
- Message read or engagement data (if supported)

How We Use This Information

We use the information collected to:
- Send timely reminders for volunteer shifts and events
- Share updates about student programs, donation opportunities, and success stories
- Provide emergency or last-minute event notifications
- Improve the functionality and reliability of our messaging platform

We may occasionally send general announcements or foundation news. You can expect no more than 2 messages per month, unless you’ve signed up for an active event that requires more frequent updates.

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information outside of the uses described here. However, we may share limited information with trusted service providers such as Twilio, which powers our SMS platform.

We require these partners to:
- Use your data only for authorized purposes
- Protect it with reasonable security measures
- Comply with applicable privacy laws

We may also disclose information if legally required or if necessary to protect our users, staff, or services.

Your Choices

You can opt out at any time:

Reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe from a specific campaign
Reply HELP for assistance
To re-subscribe, reply START or YES

Unsubscribing from one event or campaign will not automatically remove you from others. You may continue to receive texts for other programs you’ve opted into.
