Welcome Davis School District educators to The Teacher Table. We are thrilled you are here! The purpose of this page is to keep you up-to-date and engaged with Foundation initiatives specifically for YOU! Come here each month to see how we can help you and how you can better help students in your schools. Thank you for your tireless efforts in and out of the classroom - you rock!

Teacher Resources For Students In Need

As a teacher, you interact with your students every day. You may notice one, or even a few, of your students seem like they could use some extra help. Whether it's because they have holes in their shoes, their clothes don't fit, or if you find out they come from a food insecure home, we can help you help them. While we do serve students through initiatives like Child Spree and Jr. High Spree, we offer resources all year long for students in need.

A few options to be aware of:

  • Kids' Closet: If you notice a student needs new shoes or clothes due to socioeconomic circumstances, kids' closet is your answer. Inform your school counselor that you have a student that needs access to this resource. The counselor will fill out a kids' closet application and once it's approved by the Foundation, the counselor, or an administrator, can use their purchasing card to buy the necessary clothes or shoes up to $100 per student.
  • Pantry Packs: If you are concerned a child may not be getting food at home, please connect with your school counselor to discuss food options such as pantry packs. In partnership with the Bountiful Food Pantry, students in need are provided with a pantry pack that includes food for them to eat over the weekend when they are not at school.
  • Hygiene Kits: If you have a student who is in need of basic hygiene essentials (toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, etc.) due to lack of accessibility or home situations, talk to your school counselor and request that they contact the Foundation to get hygiene kits.

*The key takeaway is that if you are concerned at all for the well-being of a student or of their access to basic essentials, talk to your counselors. They will work with us to get your students the help they need.*

Employee Giving

Did you know that you can set up an automatic monthly payroll deduction to give to the Foundation? Even if it's just $1 or $5 a month, it makes a huge difference for students in need!

Follow this link to get started: https://davis.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_71CVF0lK7JifUyO

Here you can designate an amount for automatic payroll deduction that will continue each month unless you decide to make changes to it; no need to sign up again each year. If you wish to make changes, you can do so by calling 801-402-5320. If you already signed up for Employee Giving by filling out a yellow card at a staff meeting or new teacher training, there is no need to follow the link and fill out the form again — but if you can’t remember, you can fill out the electronic form and we’ll remove the duplicate if it exists. All deductions can be viewed on your electronic paystub in Encore.

We thank those who have contributed in the past and invite all employees to invest in students through Davis Education Foundation programming. Below you will find a video describing one of our current initiatives to combat student homelessness. We hope you’ll join with us in making a difference in the life of a child.
